DESIGN

At 90.7 WPSR, we are given creative freedom to create media based upon our personal interests. During senior year, I designed my own blog called Swiftie Saga where I do an in-depth dive into the lyrics and events of my favorite musical artist, Taylor Swift. I designed the blog graphic using Canva. These blog posts are featured on our website wpsrhd.com

THE MORNING BARK
WITH CHRIS, CLAIRE, AND MADELINE

The Morning Bark is a weekly radio show I did during my Sophomore and Junior years. This radio show seriously is my pride and joy; I had an absolute blast with my co-hosts Chris Gloff (CPHS 2023 graduate) and Claire Patena (CPHS 2022 graduate). We adopted this morning show after the original hosts graduated, so we had some big shoes to fill. We made new and improved daily segments such as Unpopular Opinions and kept the classic This or That and Rapid Fire Fridays trivia show. We kept the original design of this show which is to wake up the listener by sharing a comedic, light-hearted energy early in the morning. The Morning Bark would play throughout the CPHS hallways every morning as students walked to 1st period. Below I have placed one of my favorite episodes where we discussed the awkward phases of middle school and play a round of Rapid Fire Fridays.

WPSR NEWS NOW
MADELINE DEGENHART & MARIAH MOORE

After moving to Evansville, I knew I wanted to continue creating newscasts that fueled my passion for social media news convergence. During the final week of semester one classes, the Media Communications class had a "Media Challenge Week" where we each had to create a brand new project with a partner. My classmate Mariah Moore and I were assigned to create an Entertainment Newscast, and this is where WPSR News Now was born. Using my animation and anchoring skills I learned from CPTV QuickCUT, we designed WPSR News Now. CPTV had a whole staff of 10+ students creating each episode, but this newscast was created in three days by just Mariah and I. It was stressful; however, I am very proud of how this design turned out.
