The WPSR Newscast team had the opportunity to interview Evansville's newly elected mayor, Stephanie Terry. We received an inside look into her experience as the former director of the Children's Museum of Evansville, and how she feels about being the first African-American and female mayor of the city. 

As mentioned in my personal narrative, NBC 5 Chicago anchor Allison Rosati has been a large influence in my love for the news. Meeting her at the 2022 & 2023 NATAS Chicago Silver Circle was truly and dream come true. We discussed my future plans, and she emphasized the importance of making connections and taking advantage of any internship possibilities. 

The senior anchors of CPTV News QuickCUT were honored at the 2023 Chicago Silver Circle as the Crystal Pillar winners for Newscast. Chris Gloff also won for News Report - Serious News. 

I had the honor of meeting NBC 5 Meteorologist, Alicia Roman. I got to hear about her experience working with the former NBC 5 Chicago Chief Meteorologist and Silver Circle inductee, Andy Avalos. 

NBC 5 Chicago former Chief Meteorologist, Andy Avalos, was inducted into the 2023 Chicago Silver Circle. My mom and I were so delighted to catch him for a quick conversation before the ceremony. We discussed his life post-retirement living in the Chicago suburbs. 

At the Silver Circle, Chris and I also got to chat with NBC 5 Chicago evening anchor, Stefan Holt. Every evening he gets to toss it to his father, Lester Holt, the NBC Nightly News anchor. It was so fun getting to hear about his experience working in both Chicago and New York news. 

Walking out of the 2022 Silver Circle ceremony, the CPTV members ran into NBC 5 Chicago morning anchor, Michelle Relerford. I have looked up to her for years as I hope to work in morning news when I begin my journalism career. 

The 2022 CPTV News Anchor team had the opportunity to meet CBS Sunday Morning Anchor, Jane Pauley. I have grown up watching her show with my dad, so it was a surreal experience getting to talk to her. 

CPTV News QuickCUT won the National Student Production Award for Newscast. This was the first time in program history winning this title. In the newscast, I anchored Hailey Lloyd (CPHS Alumni)'s segment about the Honeysuckle Bee-tirement Home. To this day, it is my favorite piece that I have anchored!
